The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration and colleges and universities from around the state. The SBDC office at CCSU serves new and existing businesses in Clayton, Fayette, Henry and Spalding Counties.

We provide one-on-one counseling on a wide range of issues including: Developing and updating business plans, identifying sources of capital, financial records analysis, specialized research geared to the specific needs of the business owner, accounting, marketing strategies, and governmental regulation compliance. We also provide Confidential services to companies seeking operational and strategic planning advice.

Located on the beautiful CCSU campus in the Harry S. Downs Center for Continuing Education, the Small Business Development Center offers three basic services:

  • Free Consulting
  • Information Services
  • Educational Programs

During 2001, the Clayton State Small Business Development Center:

  • Met individually with over 270 current or future small business owners
  • Helped clients obtain over $2 million in start-up and expansion capital

Cecil D. McDaniel, Sr., Director (MBA)
Mr. McDaniel holds a BS Degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Georgia College. His career spans 25 years of progressively responsible positions within industrial engineering, project management, manufacturing and operations management with companies such as Milliken, Rockwell, Duracell, and The Torrington Company. Mr. McDaniel also has experience in sales, marketing and consulting.
